SUMMARY:Sisterhood for Human Rights Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:Nobody chooses where they are born. Almost everything else follows from it: the language we say I love you in\, what we are ashamed of\, whether we can walk home alone at night\, whether there is a war at our feet or not. \n187 nationalities live in Luxembourg. We pass each other every day on the street and know almost nothing about each other’s inner lives. Sisterhood for Human Rights is a three-day attempt to look straight into that distance. We will screen documentaries that confront realities vastly different from our own\, and sometimes unexpectedly close to them. Alongside the films\, we are building spaces to process them together: a public lecture\, a workshop painting directly onto raw film and a gathering around death. On Friday and Saturday night we clear the floor for music and movement. \nThis film festival will not erase the distance between us\, but we hope it will give us the time and space to sit together\, listen to stories we might never otherwise hear\, and talk about what could come next. \n  \nFriday\, 13 November\n19h  Festival Opening\n19h30–22h  The Life of Ivanna Yaptune by Renato Borrayo Serrano — Film Screening & Discussion\n21h30–00h30  DJ Set: DJ Yoni \nSaturday\, 14 November\n14h–16h  House with a Voice by Kristine Nrecaj & Birthe Templin — Film Screening & Discussion\n16h–19h  Paint Your Film! — Creative Workshop\n16h30–18h  Love Dilemmas in the Modern Society — Public Talk with Polina Aronson\n18h30–20h30  Territory Without War by Taya Zubova — Film Screening & Discussion\n22h–1h  DJ Set: DJ K.leo.patra \nSunday\, 15 November\n10h–12h  Causerie Mortelle — Open Conversation About Death\n14h–16h30  Smoke Sauna Sisterhood by Anna Hints — Film Screening & Discussion\n17h–18h  Closing Words & Drinks \nSee the full programme and detailed daily schedule here.\n  \nPractical info:\n\nFree entry but reservation advised for the projections and the conference via the formular\nFree entry and mandatory reservation for Causerie Mortelle via hello@causeriemortelle.lu\n\nIllustration made by Sarah Mafféïs
